Jerry Iverson

Jerry Iverson grew up on a family farm near Binford, ND, where he was an active 4-H member.  After graduating from NDSU, Jerry taught Vocational Ag and coached Minot FFA livestock and crops judging teams for five years, winning a number of state and national awards.  He was selected manager of the North Dakota State Fair in 1976, a position he holds today.  During his tenure as manager, the ND State Fair has grown tremendously not only in the facilities but in the scope of services and activities hosted there.  His efforts have made the ND State Fair a showcase for North Dakota agriculture highlighting developments in crops, livestock, machinery, technology, marketing and agricultural inputs.

Jerry has been instrumental in providing facilities and increased premium incentives for the 4-H and FFA exhibitors.  His concern for the young people of North Dakota is reflected in the focus of the fair to help them learn, develop, grow and to love the rural life.  He has served the fair industry as president of ND Association of Fairs, the Rocky Mountain Association of Fairs and the International Association of Fairs and Expositions.  Special awards include ND 4-H Hall of Fame, Honorary American Farmer and GNDA Tourism Award.  Jerry has a genuine passion to promote North Dakota agriculture to all ages, but especially to our youth.
